RedHalo Racing on winning the King George Classic Challenge Final (July 2007)
What did it feel like to win the King George Classic?
It feels fantastic to win the King George, when it crossed the line, I jumped for joy. Was well happy.
How optimistic were you about winning?
I was fairly optimistic, as this boy loves to race & he is a heart of gold.
What routines do you follow before the race?
No special routine, just had a couple of cans & a nice meal. My wife watched it with me.
How do you prepare for a Challenge Series race?
Just make sure your horse is ready for the course, distance & going. Make sure he is fit & do not overtrain, as I have done in the past! Lol.
How do you celebrate winning a Challenge Series race?
The winnings will be spent in the sales ring next season on new 2yos.
Final Comments:
It is hard work getting to the final & can be costly when you horse does not win any qualifiers, but the feeling of satisfaction when they do is great, especially when only one can win. Big well done to all winners of races & those that placed, that were so close.
